Newport Beach Christmas Boat Parade 2003

The 2003 Christmas Boat Parade was much more entertaining than that in previous years, probably because the economy has been showing signs of recovering, making our free-spending friends perhaps a bit freer than in previous years.

This is the first parade for which I got both stills and video. In previous years, I took the video and extracted stills from it. This year, I had a Canon EOS D30 digital camera to add to my usual Canon XL1 MiniDV camcorder. I must say the still pictures came out great, making my previous efforts with the video camera look almost embarassing.

I could write more, but I want to actually get these pictures up by Christmas! It's 7:09pm Christmas evening, and here they are. Is that a record or what? :-).
