Thank you for posting this. This is typical of the "inside" hype generated to keep the Orwellian image that all is well in Oceania. It is designed to "drive the SP's into apathy", and to re-affirm to the cultists that "Scientology is winning, and expanding every day!"

Crowing with laughter at the "defeat" of an enemy is typical, and it took me a long time to discover this side of the Church for myself. I just couldn't believe that an organisation purportedly there to free people and make them more self-determined, could conduct itself this way. But there it is, from the horses' mouth!

The comfort I can offer is this: bear in mind the ACTUAL impact of the CoS on the whole planet - MINIMAL! They tend to blow up their own importance out of proportion, and be aware, that whether you are trapped in the organisation as a cultist, OR engaged in a conflict with them, you tend to think they are more important than they actually are.

The world today is full of free thinkers - there are waves of new free thinkers, who will no longer tolerate religious monopoly of ANY kind, there are projects across the planet that are having ACTUAL effects on governments and constitutions, to improve conditions everywhere.

There are unsung freedom workers, aid workers, directly involved in assisting in conflict areas, all over the world. They have their sleeves rolled up, and are actually having an effect in the REAL world, not in some holographic Faberge Egg.

And most of all, the next time Woody or someone wails about a.r.s. attacking their religious freedom, re-post this article.

The Church has just indicted itself, and made a MOCKERY of the principle of religious freedom!

In the end, the Church is its own worst enemy!
