We have seen all sorts of little clues from Scientology literature and internal documents. For instance, statements that there was a recruiting push to bring numbers of actual members up to 100,000 by a certain date. Meaning in the early 90's there were less than 100,000. But we know also that there is a high turn over. We have seen documents that indicate the only some 5000 - 10,000 are core members. Sea org, long term high ranking, members, executives, FSMs, missionholders and the like.
