I long wondered why the cult insisted on its ridiculously high prices; I put it down to sheer ignorance of the law of supply and demand as it pertains to profit as explicated in any basic economics course. I was wrong; what you have said has the ring of truth. It's a recruitment strategy, all right. Come to think of it, that's why *I* signed a five-year contract; I was broke, and they told me I could go "up the Bridge to total freedom" quickly through free services as staff vs paying public. Much the same strategy was used to get me to sign a billion year Sea Org contract later on in my brainwashed state of mind...fortunately, I was on the Tech Traing Corp, and Gold couldn't take me; otherwise I might have ended up at Gilman. <phew! close call!>
