As far as I am aware, nobody has _ever_ lost his net account due to action by the church's lawyers. They have failed every time. Remember Daniel Davidson? Still here. Martin Poulter? Still here. Martin Hunt? Still here. henry? Still here. Dennis Erlich even, still here. The sysops seem to be taking the only action possible when faced with an allegation that the law is being broken. When they see the evidence, the reaction is invariably to reinstate the poster. Contrast this with how the church posters have faired: Andy Milne lost his delphi account and had to move to crl. Vera lost her Earthlink account. David Leevy and Ian St John lost their DeltaNet accounts. Even slow, inefficient NetCom killed off the accounts that were used to operate the first cancelbunny (at least 3 accounts by my reckoning). Whatever happened to huheyniaman? After his last abuse of his anon account, a number of people emailed Julf. huheyniaman has not been seen since. The kaiwan posters (Rick Davis and Brian Stone) eventually stopped vertical spamming, possibly because of complaints to their sysops, or possibly because most people used killfiles, and anyway, the Woody tactic was more effective in creating noise. So by my reckoning, church of scientology supporters have lost at least 7 net accounts due to various net abuses, most of them breaches of US Federal law and relevant local statutes (unauthorized cancellation of posts). If anybody is aware of anyone else who has posted to alt.religion.scientology and lost his account because of it, please let me know.
