Interesting afternoon in Judge Whyte's court

I was very glad to see that Judge Whyte demonstrated compelling understanding of the nature of the Internet, expertise he displayed by his questions and comments to both sides' counsel. An example of this: Judge Whyte asked RTC's counsel if the presence of copyrighted material in on his computer -- in RAM -- while browsing the Internet constituted a technical copyright violation. Like much of the plaintiff's presentation, their answer to this question -- and many other pertinant questions -- confused me, so I won't try to characterize RTC's response. And I was not the only one confused, aparently. Judge Whyte made a point of saying that he could not follow Mr. Cooley's logic at one point in his presentation.

All in all, a very interesting day. I recommend reading the transcript, as soon as it is available!
