Interested in reading "Dianetics" but can't find the time to devour all 579 pages of LRH's creative fiction? Well friend, your worries are over. Thanks to a bastardized version of Study-tech(tm), I call it Booksmarts-tech SX500.8-8008, I have been able to locate the single paragraph that best reflects LRH's writing style, the method behind the madness.

taken from "Dianetics" by LRH page #3,

"This volume has made no effort to use resounding or thunderous phrases, frowning polysyllables or profesorial detatchment. When one is delivering answers which are simple, he need not make the communication any more difficult than is necessary to convey the ideas. "Basic language" has been used, much of the nomenclature is colloquial; the pedantic has not only not been employed, it has also been ignored."

This is the essence of Elron, a sickeningly-sweet verbosity that fails to mask the stench of his hypocrisy. In his attempt to use "Basic language", LRH feels the need to include the definitions of polysyllables, nomenclature, colloquial, and pedantic. LRH consistently does what he says he is not going to do.

I don't want to leave anyone with the impression that "Dianetics" starts getting unreadable at page #3. Pages #1 and #2 have their share of Hubbardality. Consider these gems:

"The trail is blazed, the routes are sufficiently mapped for you to voyage in safety into your own mind and recover there your full inherent potential, which is not, we now know, low but very, very high." pg 1 "Dianetics" by LRH

LRH is still the trailblazing Eagle Scout on a mission of mercy, a very, very important mission of mercy.

"You will be gratified to know that you held not opinions but scientific facts in many of your concepts of existance." pg 2 "Dianetics" by LRH

Problem here? A) LRH is being a suck-up. B) LRH reveals his criteria for labeling something a scientific fact. C)I smell cheese.

take care,

Stephen Jones
