U HEARD IT HERE FIRSTBy dennis.l.erlich@support.comSun, 14 May 95 18:36:33 -0700 Faithful Reader, I haven't had a chance to update you on recent events, what with my provider glitching and such, so I figured I'd bring everbody up to speed. On friday, the Mighty MoFo filed a 70 page motion to amend the Amended TRO. It is a course in copyright law and effectively rips the guts out of the suit. Among other things it finds fault with every copyright and trade secret claim individually. It reduces the scieno's probability of prevailing in the suit to near zero. The precedents cited are clear and convincing on every point of law. The motion seeks: 1) The return of all material seized based on the faulty Writ of Seizure. 2) The lifting of the TRO on Your Humble Narrator. 3) Raising the bond from $25,000 to $100,000. The scienos probably had to change their undies (don't forget to send them to Tony, Vera) when they saw what they were going to be up against. A whole team of lawyers worked long hours to prepare the filing. Often I'd get calls at 10 PM from one or another of them, still working at the office, to clarify some fact. MoFo is what a lawfirm should be. On Thursday the list of depositions was circulated by MoFo. It included the poodle and the rest of his gang of thugs as well as some oldies-but-goodies in the field. MTV had scheduled a special on cults (including the scienos) in early June then mysteriously postponed it til the 27th. Scienos at work? Further developments in the Allstate story could cost jobs if revealed at this time. Check the WSJ (wall street journal) for details (if they print it). In my family-law case, my ex's lawyer is trying to schedule a deposition on the same day that I told him my attorney and I are unavailable. Simple harassment. There will be a hearing early in June to determine arrearages and payment plan. I will certainly abide by the court's ruling or appeal it. The best news was MoFo's filing. Looks like their bogus copright claims will be overturned and ownership will either revert to Mary Sue or to public domain. Either would be okay by me. Although the latter would provide for freedom of religion in the Freezone, which I would like to see established once and for all. Be well. +---------------------------------------+ Rev.
