>something like that) instead. I've been asked to give some more details of how I got these 2 mags, so here's the full story :

I was stopped on the street outside the org by a smiling person who asked if I wanted to discover more about myself. My original intention was to decline and carry on down the street. However, she was persistant, and followed me, continuing to ask questions. I said "I don't want to take your personality test, but I'd like a copy of Freedom magazine." "OK" she responded, and disappeared into the org. I followed. She went to a room at the back of the building and didn't reappear for several minutes. During this time, I talked to the receptionist, who had some interesting-looking booklets on the desk in front of her - the one that caught my eye was an explanation of the Tone Scale, but I wasn't interested in paying for it. I told her that I was interested in reading a copy of Freedom, and she said she'd try and find one for me. She also disappeared into the room at the back.

I was alone in the front of the org with only the 2 people doing personality tests to talk to. The 1st lady came back and seemed not to recognise me. "Are you here to meet someone?" she asked. "No", I replied, "I'm waiting for my copy of Freedom." "Oh. Well, we haven't got any of the current issue, but there's another one due out in a couple of months. I suggest you try again then" she responded.

At this time, the receptionist came back with the 2 mags, and a couple of other flyers, one of which was trying to persuade people to buy a "Confessional Security Checker" kit (I think). I left the org.

I guess under normal circumstances I would suggest that anyone interested in getting a copy of these mags should try asking at their local org. However, if you do, be prepared for the OSA Ministry of Propaganda to start posting messages reading "Demand for Freedom magazine doubles after Internet exposure".

Gotta go now - I'm off to see 'The Verve', unfortunately not at the Brixton Academy as it's just been bought [and it's true, the new owners don't want to use it as a music venue anymore :( ]
