Watch out, Clearwater: Gerhard Haag is in town.By tilman@berlin.snafu.de (Tilman Hausherr)19 May 1995 21:03:52 GMT Here's an article from the "SP Times":
: "I watched. He didn't come up" (...)
: Shelor said Gerhard Haag, Alex's father and a developer who wants
: The elder Haag is a local businessman who presides over two What does he mean with "robotic parking" ? Parking by oatee rondroids ? OK, forget the joke. Gerhard Haag owned a company who had a patent on an automatic parking system. By that name, I am sure that it is the same person.
The following is simplified from two german books, "Ich klage an" and "Der Sektenkonzern". The real case is much, much more complicated, because some state attorneys and politicians did not make their job right.
Because of the accident of their son, I thought I wait a bit before posting material about Haag, but his involvement in Albania came up anyway. Haag remains a criminal, dead son or not.

: There seem to be a good deal of WISE-"managment" activity and training [ !!! Disclaimer: the following may or may not be my own opinion. I am just making a summary from two books, which are still available on the german market. !!! ] Gerhard Haag is "patron meritorius" and has paid $250,000 in the IAS "war chest". He had his own "ethic officer" in his company STN (Stahlbautechnik Neckar), he was really good "on policy". STN was listed as a WISE company. In 1991 his company was searched by the police. The search was issued to find illegaly employed aliens. 39 from countries like Poland and Yugoslavia were found and expulsed. Haag was fined a 200 day's income. One of the aliens came back and worked again for Haag under a phony name, and was then put in jail. He also didn't care about the sleep of his neighbours, and had to pay a $5,000 fine because of noisy work. In fall 1993 labor investigators proved that he had illegally employed polish people for 55,000 hours. His fine: DM 52,599. [only !] Instead of getting into trouble, Haag got from the "Treuhand" (the institution that "owned" all former east german companies) a contract to buy the steel building company "Riesa". 1st July 1992. The new boss of "Riesa" is coming into the company. But he is beeing asked questions: "What is scientology ?", "Will we now have culties instead of communists ?", "Will we now get again someone who knows the only truth ?" To managers, Haag says "There is no business connection between STN and scientology". But a few days before, there was an unusual press conference in Berlin arranged by the workers council from "Krupp Stahlbau Berlin". On that conference, an unidentified woman [Jeanette Schweitzer] was presented to the journalists. She had been a manager in Haags company STN. Haag had bought that company in 1989 from Krupp. The woman had also been member of scientology recently, and told everything. Haag had used scientology methods for his company. After 2 1/2 years under Haag, only few of the 200 employees remained. Haag was at that time discussing buying the Berlin department of Krupp. When the workers council heard that, they began researching. They had heard only weird rumors from their former co-workers. Haag was very successful with STN, maybe thanks to his illegal hiring and paying practices. STN had customers like Mercedes, BMW, the Post Office, he was even involved with the european space rocket, and as said before, he presented that new, fully automatic parking system. The old workers council had been dissolved, and a new one was voted, which included only "faithful" people. When allegations were made public, he distributed statements like "No person in my company is dependant on scientology or its management". The metal workers union warned from the cult. Haags contract was widely discussed among politicians; even the Federal President said that he was concerned. [The "president" is a well respected but powerless dummy; the "Chancellor" is the one in power] On 7th Dec 1990 he had distributed "study orders" for his employees. On 26 June 1992 the "Treuhand" cancelled the contract, because Haag had "forgotten" to tell that State Attorneys were investigating him. Because the cancellation was possibly illegal, Haags lawyers managed to get DM 2,000,000 from the "Treuhand" for his "work". The deal with Krupp also never worked out. Ex-Scientologist Jeanette Schweitzer spoke out openly on 5th Aug 1995. Before that date, only state attorneys could speak to her. She was the very first ex-scientologist who could tell the public what happens when a scientologist takes over a company. She had entered the cult in 1989. "At that time, I was not feeling very well, I was divorced recently. A friend told me about scientology, and we took a visit to the Frankfurt Org". The scientologists, who have the ability to classify people, immediately knew what a good person they'd got. She was someone who made a very good impression on people, and knew how to deal with them. So they didn't lose time with beginner's courses and auditing; she was "clear" after only 5 months. Scientology connected her with Gerhard Haag. She immediately liked him, and took a job as commercial manager. She worked 14 - 16 hours a day, like everyone else. Why ? Because she got paid for 8 hours normally, and the rest illegaly without paying any taxes. At that time, the computer in the accounting department "somehow" crashed three times, and 20 - 30% of financial data were lost. To be sure, the auditor [not a scieno auditor! The guy who checks that the financial stuff is done properly] was fired too. Workers resigned from their job, they knew something weird was going on, they were scared. One day she had eight resignations on her table, another days four. She liked it that the employees were scared of her, because she was a scientologist. Later she was named "ethic officer" for the company. She had to set up "ethics folders", i.e. special personel folders, about all scientologists that were brought into the company. Everything is written into those folders: what you don't like at a person, with who a person has a relationship. All is written and then goes to Stuttgart, Frankfurt or to the UK. [such folders are absolutely illegal in german companies] She got into a doubt when she began making "Knowledge Reports" about those illegal actions in the company, and got more and more punished. She was ordered more than 20 times to be "handled" to Saint Hill. She had to pay fines and write the same letter again and again in a 2 x 2 meter "ethic cell". She didn't understand anything: why was she punished for illegalities that her boss committed ? On 19 Dec 1990 she left the cult, after her boss and another person wanted to take her to Saint Hill again. Her boss took the key of her car, and drove away with all her possessions. What followed was a year of threats and psycho-terror. [Read the affidavit of Anne Roselblum to know how this goes] She nearly broke down, thought about suicide, but her children and her parents helped her. In 1992 she got her "SP declare" (she had sued her boss at the labor court). That was to much. Now she talked before state sttorneys and on public conferences, and she can be proud: Haag lost deals of a value of several million marks. At the end of July 1992, she won her court case against her former boss. And she does still talk about her experience in scientology. She considers herself lucky: "When someone had a lot of auditing, then this person is lost". She frequently talked on talk-shows [the investigative magazine SPIEGEL-TV brought her story]. She was so heavily threatened that she got police protection at the end of 1992. Her experience was the reason that the secret service "Verfassungsschutz" was ordered to monitor scientology.
But Haags company was now in financial trouble. He managed to find a buyer, and told him what a wonderful company that was. The new owner had immediately a lot of problems:
But Haag was planning new activities. On 4th Dec 1992, he invited 30 WISE members in Tirana, Albania. Target was to build a commercial center with hotel and to start a private bank. He organised scientology courses on the Tirana university for professors and students, but also for other persons. On 10th Feb 1993, Haag was standing before a district court in Germany. He was accused of threatening ex-employees. When asked about his income, he said that he is jobless, lives in a DM 700 rented apartment from his wife, has a car and DM 10,000,000 liabilities. On 9th Aug 1993, there was a trial against Gerhard and Sabine Haag before the state court in Stuttgart, because Haag had appealed the sentence of the district court. Haag excused himself. He said that he didn't have the money to pay his travel from Albania. He was sentenced in absentia to DM 10,000 fine, and was never seen in Germany again. [info from 1994]
