Lt./Cmdr./Commodore L. Ron Hubbard's wartime naval adventure's appear in the June 1995 Raider's Digest, page 83. Through the pitch-black night, Commander Hubbard sees a light dead ahead on a collision couse with his ship. He sends a signal: "Change your course ten degrees east." The light signals back: "Change yours ten degrees west." Angry, Hubbard sends: "I'm a Navy Commander. Change your course, sir." "I'm a seaman, second class." comes the reply. "Change your course, sir." Now Hubbard is furious, "I'm a corvette squadron! I'm not changing course!" There's on last reply, "I'm a lighthouse. Your call." So Hubbard sounds general quarters and opens fire with 50 caliber machine guns.
