Robert Marcus: Real threat or just another stupid Clam?Oh boy. In one of the most stunning posts ever to be made on ars, Robert Marcus posts a mildly veiled death threat to Diane Richardson, one of the most liked posters on alt.religion.scientology. Predictably enough, reaction from ars regulars was instantaneous and vehement.Incredibly enough, Marcus seems to be quite proud of his recent efforts. Here is his repost of his infamous apology that wasn't. For the record, here is the original post, although it's probably not different enough from the repost to be worth looking at. (Note that, although I do not have the original threat post made by Marcus, many of the responses record virtually the entire thing).
Here are some of the best of the many responses made to Marcus' posts:
William Barwell Marina Chong wonders about Marcus' strange attitude towards email It's time for Henry to email Marcus again. A little variety this time: Henry uses termcaps, not core dumps. Daniel Davidson reveals why Robert Marcus needs enemies, as does the Church. Hillel mulls over the reasons for Marcus' threat
The infamous "Apology"Marcus' infamous "apology"Diane Richardson responds: "You have a very, very strange sense of humor to consider what you wrote 'satire,' Mr. Marcus." Steven Jones responds to the "Apology" TarlaStar responds to it too Tony Sidaway explains the culture gap that might make the death threat less than it seems. Might. Sri responds to the Marcus claim that his attorney "thought it [the death threat] was great satire." Zane reviews "a sorry excuse for an apology.
