NPR was right - welcome new readersBy coriez@ix.netcom.com (Charles Oriez)14 Jun 1995 02:45:53 GMT Woody really is a silly as the NPR program implied. I thought the coverage in general was excellent. But dont take my word for it - dont kill anyone until you've had a chance to sample all flavors. A note to Woody et al - best be on your best bevhavior the next few days. Alot of new people are here after the NPR coverage. If you listen to a tape of the broadcast, try to suspend your pre disposition and listen to how you came off to the average listener who probably didnt care, until now, whether you win or lose. The mass of people who are neither skeptics nor advocates, and never will be, were the NPR audience. Those are the people who you're losing with your current behavior. I occasionally teach a seminar on lobbying and PR for public interest groups. One of the rules I constantly hit home with is:Never Make Enemies You Dont Have to Make. It's a rule you could do well to learn. Anyone wanting a tape of the broadcast can buy one from NPR by calling 202-414-3232.
