[M632 - A Question for a Clam (re: 1/25th sec)]

I've seen the discussion about the 1/25th stuff and the attendant discussions regarding movies and TV.

Question for the believers in Hubbard's Rot:

Why can I see a flash that lasts for a thousandth of a second?

Basically, if you are talking about capturing data at 1/25th of a second video-wise, you also require a shuttering to eliminate movement. If you are talking about audio, it means fuck-all. You can't sample sound at 1/25th of a second intervals, as it requires the in-between bits to create a continuous waveform.

As for touch, smell, etc, such things are not something that can be 'recorded' as such for replay. One is accustomed to feeling heat and we routinely experience the broader categories. You only notice hot or cold when it goes over a threshold that requires your attention, ie, finger in fire and so on.

According to Hubbard and his (26,52,56,57) [pick one) perceptics, such things are considered recordable. While Hubby would scream to be recognised as a source of Scientific worth, his ramblings regarding the body/mind doing frame captures (kinda like a cine recording with 55 other tracks), this shit is just a giggle.

I had the dubious pleasure of looking through "The Problems of Work" in the local library. It is a dry and rambling text that starts with 'Scientology can fix all that and more' and ends with a bunch of advertising to 'BUY DMSMH NOW!' - along with about 8 other books.

The bits in between were hogwash. And so too think the public. Books unshelved at our local library are stamped before return to the shelf. This one made it off-shelf twice in 3 years. - Once because someone grabbed it by mistake and the other time because it fell of the shelf. Oh, and of course, it now has one more stamp to add to it's career as an amazing aid to helping people work.

I gotta go find the Clam Special (HoM) - from all counts it is something to see.
