I'll take the easy ones...
>Here we go:
>1. What is the clam referencing about?
In his book _History of Man_, Hubbard says we are genetically decended
from clams. We still have a subconscious memory of being clams, and
when someone goes "snap! snap! snap!" our jaws should ache in
response. This has devolved into a derogatory name for
Scientologists, since they believe what Hubbard said.
>2. What is SCAMZDAT?
SCAMIZDAT anonymously posts secret CoS teachings sent to him/her/them,
on various newsgroups, and then announces where they can be found.
>3. What's the references to squirrels mean?
"Squirrel" is a Scientology term for someone who deviates from
Hubbard's teachings.
>4. Could somebody please use facts in their postings?
I try whenever possible. Please let me know when I fail to back up
any assertion I make.
>5. I thought Hubbarb was just a writer, why did he start a religion.
He was a Sci-fi and pulp writer until he wrote Dianetics in 1948. It
was originally a mental therapy, and became "Scientology" in 1952,
when Hubbard added the concept of past lives to his teachings.
>6. Why does CoS charge so much to 'clear' people and give them 'help'?
Because they can? Seriously, I think this is the best answer you'll
get. They're just plain greedy.
>7. Why does everyone assume that any scientologist that posts is usually
>lying?
They have a long track record of it. Check out the web pages, they're
chock-full of Scientologists lying about everything under the sun.
>8. What's the difference between this and say televangelism? (They both ask
>for money from you so that you'll be saved or whatever)
Televangelism is a milder form of extortion, they don't push the sell
as hard as Scientology does. They also don't use coercion, threats,
kidnapping, frivolous lawsuits and dirty tricks.
>9. How many CoS people are on this group?
Not many. They've talked in the past about overwhelming us with
"theta" (positive) posts, as many as 2000 a day. But Woody's little
rants seem to be the best they can sustain.
>10. What does the Sea Org (spelling?) do and how does it relate to
>the rest of the CoS bodies?
Back in the late 60's Hubbard boughht some big boats and took his
people sailing around the world and getting into trouble. From that
came the Sea Org. There's less boats nowadays, but the naval theme
stayed on. Sea Org are the inner core of the church.
>11. And what's this about someone stealing something from someone elses
>relative?
I'm not sure what you mean by this. There've been a couple cases
involving money mentioned around here; can you give us a hint which
case you mean?
>12. If CoS isn't a church then what is it?
CoS -includes- a church. It also includes a science of the mind, a
business technique, a drug treatment program and a way to study
things. They're all more or less just hooks to catch peoples'
interest so they can be drawn fully into the cult.

Hope I helped.
