[B12] Cover illustrations on Scientology BooksBy an221181@anon.penet.fi (Beebo Brinker)Wed, 7 Jun 1995 20:49:09 UTC I am not a Scientologist. My question is for those familiar with Scientology procedures and practics. A Scientologist writes:
>Believe me, you cannot find out about Scientology or Dianetics unless
For instance, "Creation of Human Ability" has a drawing of a woman in a gorilla suit sitting on a chair, eating a turkey leg. "Dianetics, The Evolution of a Science" shows pictures of men in white helmets carring boxes in and out of a spaceship. And "All About Radiation" has a porcine man wearing a urinal-shaped white helmet, blowing a whistle so hard his cheeks are distended. "Child Dianetics" has a picture of a wire-haired fox terrier. The cover illustrations on "Scientology 8-8008", and "Fundamentals of Thought" are no less unusual. The front matter in these books makes no mention of the artist, nor is there any mention of the significance, if any, of these unusual illustrations. In what religious context should readers of these books interpret the cover art? In what way is the cover art intended to help readers understand the message of these books?
