M255R - Weekly Stat Briefing SheetBy an105662@anon.penet.fi (The Squirrelle)Sun, 25 Jun 1995 17:16:32 UTC [M255R - Weekly Stat Briefing Sheet] Repost 26/06/95 Original 13/12/94 I had said I wanted a Briefing Sheet to compare numbers with, and all I had to do was go a bit deeper in the stack. I got one from 1986, about 2.5 years earlier. (I have others, but this is a nice oldie). The BIS (Bodies in the Shop) value for my local Org are PED 23 and PEF 38. Comparing with the later one, 34 and 42, pretty much what you'd expect as a weekly fluctuation rather than rapid expansion. Compare the following figures: PED/PEF (TOTAL) FHS BIS GI 17DEC86 9/9 (18) 23/38 (61) 2976/4250 (7226) 15JUN89 9/7 (16)- 34/42 (76)+ 1889/4957 (6846)- WDAH NNCF SCN INT NNCF 17DEC86 46/13 (59) 24/20 (44) 8636 15JUN89 33/59 (92)+ 14/18 (32)- 5894 - Hmmmm. Again, I express my doubts. I pick on PED/PEF because I have first hand observations of these. The NNCF figure, New Names to Central Files, cetainly shows no increase in rate of acquisition, however, I need to examine several more to get a handle on the expectation. The International situation, certainly, does not bear any resemblance to an increase as shown by the NNCF for Scientology International taking a beating. I suspect that an audited set of figures from 1989 to 1994 would indicate a decline in number of people "on the list", although income can be artificially inflated by raised prices, new products and inflation. Well, with an average of 7000 per week, that is about 364,000 new names per year going into central files. Using that figure from 1989 to 1994 as 5 years, they have added 1.8 million "names" to the list. This does not tally with the expected expansion of someone doing better and better. It just reflects a very static state, which leaves them in danger of shrinking rapidly when things get a little tough. Based on the named figure of 8 million in 1991, there should be about 9 million NAMES in 1994. However, the figures above do not reflect an expansion, although there must have been a rapid expansion some years earlier, around the 60's and 70's (when people were generally more stupid). Does anyone have a 1994 or 1995 Briefing Sheet, and if so, do they want to mail me a copy so I can clarify the picture and do a better analysis? Milne? Woody? Virginia? Vera?
