Touchy about targets, aren't you? If this were bullbaiting, you'd flunk on this for sure. The CoS seems to know about targets... Paulette Cooper, Grady Ward, TarlaStar. How DO you pick them? Is there a HCOB called "Targets and How to Pick Them" or do you pull names out of a hat (maybe that's what the HCOB says?).

Enough about targets. Let's talk technique! We know what happened to Paulette, and Grady's told his story. So, sadly, I have to ask the "most hated question in the newsgroup"-How did you get TarlaStar's personal details?

Maybe this is getting too hard, so let's make this a multiple choice test, just like the personality test.

Q: What was the means used to obtain TarlaStar's true identity?

A1: A powerful thetan navigated the subatomic eddies of the Internet, and followed one of the "enturbulating" postings to its source. At this point, the thetan exteriorized, and used its perfect knowledge of geography (having been both Herodotus and Vasco da Gama in past lives) to figure out where it was. Having done this, deducing Tarla's identity was easy. This information was then communicated directly to OSA headquarters as thought waves.

A2: A powerful thetan scanned the minds of TarlaStar's internet provider to learn where the information was stored. At this point, it was necessary to "be at cause" over various computer peripherals to cause an untraceable email to be sent to OSA headquarters for analysis.

A3: A somewhat unethical private investigator was retained to do this. Using techniques learned in "PI 101" it was not hard to do. Funds were drawn from an OSA account and paid to the PI in cash (small bills, nonconsecutive serial numbers). The PI is now taking "PI 200 (ethics of the investigative profession" at a local school. The information was sent via carrierclam to the local Scientology org.
